Impressionism - Impressionist Art: 

In Impressionist Art the artist captures the image of an object as someone would see it if they just caught a glimpse of it. Emphasis on light, visible thick brush strokes, perception of movement and unusual visual angles are characteristics of impressionist paintings. Some of the most famous artists are Edgar Degas, Claude Monet, Camille Pissaro and Auguste Renoir.
